Of the many learning theories, we focused on the following six. I feel all have valid application to teaching and learning, although the latest research suggests the VARK model has little impact on learning outcomes (Main, 2022). I do believe students adopt varying combinations of learning styles rather than operating in one category exclusively, in the same way that they have multiple intelligences. Educators should avoid categorising students and instead create lessons and activities that appeal to all learning styles and intelligences.
